A Change of (Second) Course.

[reblogged from flickr]

Since the upheaval in our economic climate, many more of us are finding ourselves unemployed.   This is not the best of situations to be in, especially if you have children to support.  But rather than being pessimistic about this it is far better to focus on the positive aspects…

So, you have lost your job and you want to find a new one as quickly as possible.  But do you really want it to be in the same area of work?  This could be a great time to start off with a whole new career and there are all kinds of possibilities.  Why not consider the catering industry?  It can be a creative, rewarding and genuinely interesting sector to work in; it also has a good deal of stability.  After all, eating is never going to go out of fashion!

One of the best things about a career in food preparation is that you can find plenty of relevant training online.  Getting yourself a food hygiene certificate is an incredibly simple matter.  After this, the world will be your oyster (so to speak)…

    OMG!
Whoever wrote this post is trying to turn the millions of unemployed in Britain into an army of chefs!!!
We will end up being ruled by a catering organisation with Gordon Ramsey at the helm! lol.

I work in the catering industry and (although I enjoy it) I wouldn’t describe it as ‘creative, rewarding and genuinely interesting’.
There are stroppy customers to deal with most of the time and it can be a very tiring job.
It certainly isn’t suited to everyone.
